A graduate of Maine's Colby College, she moved to Boston to work in graphic design, marry and pursue fine art. She paints oil landscapes, flooded with the kind of color and light seen near the seashore, with sweeping brushstrokes. Her rocks, swirling waters, land and clouds are pure essence. Without a person or human symbol in sight, there is a feeling of presence - Christensen herself. She says that her "oversensitivity," travel and a rich lifetime experience have shaped her work.
